 FAQs

  • Admission to Halifax VegFest is a suggested $5 donation to help support our volunteer-run, not-for-profit society. All donations we receive go towards the cost of running the festival as well as ensuring we have enough funds in place to host next year’s event.

As admission is only suggested, no tickets/bracelets/stamps will be issued upon entry. You are free to leave and re-enter the festival throughout the day.

  • We recommend the following pro tips when coming to Halifax VegFest:

    • Bring cash - there is no ATM on site (ATMs near the venue: TD Bank, BMO, and RBC)

    • Bring a water bottle (there will be free water)

    • Bring a non-perishable veg-friendly food donation for the Halifax Community Fridge

    • Bring reuseable shopping bags

    • Cut down on waste! Bring your own containers and cutlery

    • Donate towards future VegFests

    • Don’t like crowds? Avoid the peak hours by coming after 1 PM!

  • Yes, our event is family friendly.

  • Unfortunately, only service dogs are allowed.

  • Everyone is welcome, regardless of their dietary choices. We encourage you to attend and try something new! There are many things to experience at Halifax VegFest, including a wide variety of cuisine. Try a plant-based donair, masala dosa, or ice cream sundae while you browse the cruelty-free cosmetics or consider taking home a grow-your-own-mushroom-kit. Just don’t miss the most popular main stage event, our annual cooking demo featuring a local chef!

  • Paid parking is available at the Nova Centre and Scotia Square Parkade. There is parking near the Prince George Hotel, free street parking on weekends, and the venue is also near the main downtown bus hub if you are looking for an alternative option. Even with these options, parking can still sometimes be limited in downtown Halifax. We encourage you to walk, bike, carpool, or take the bus if and wherever possible, and save a parking spot for others who are in greater need of parking closer to the venue.

  • Yes!
